Edín Solís

Two-time Grammy Award winning Edín Solis is Soundtrack Producer and Composer of Dear Zoël. As the lead guitarist of the group Cantoamerica for 6 years in the late eighties, Edín composed and performed original music inspired by the Afro-Caribbean sounds of Costa Rica and the Caribbean. In 1991 Edín received the top award in Costa Rica’s National Guitar Contest, and continued his musical studies in Paris. During that same year he embarked on a solo tour throughout Europe.

In 1999 Edín was awarded “Best Composer” by the Association of Authors and Composers of Costa Rica. The honor was repeated in 2007. In 2002 Edín was awarded his first Grammy for “Best World Music Album” in the category of Production and Engineer, for his work on Mundo with Rubén Blades. In 2003, Edín was given a second Grammy for “Best Mix of Contemporary and Tropical Music” for the same album.

Edín has shared the stage with many renowned artists such as Rubén Blades, Armando Manzanero, León Gieco, Pedro Aznar, Jorge Strunz, Luis Fonsi, Soraya, Aterciopelados, Daniela Mercuri and Erick Rigler, among others.

Currently, Edín has been composing and performing original work with his group Editus. His latest solo work is a compilation album called Pasaje Abierto.
